Lockport, IL – Families in Lockport can get ready for a fun and safe Halloween night as city officials announce the official trick-or-treating hours will run from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31.
According to the Lockport Police Department, the community is encouraged to enjoy the festivities while following key safety guidelines. Officers remind residents to stick to well-lit areas, use sidewalks, and only visit homes with porch lights on.
Drivers are urged to slow down and stay alert for children crossing streets, especially in neighborhoods during peak trick-or-treating times. The department also recommends that children carry flashlights or glow sticks to stay visible as daylight fades.
In a social media post Monday, police extended well wishes for a “safe and spooktacular Halloween,” encouraging community members to look out for one another while celebrating.
Residents are reminded that extra patrols may be present to ensure safety throughout the evening.
