Lockport, IL – Road closures will begin tonight at 5:30 p.m. for the Old Canal Days Parade, according to the Lockport Emergency Management Agency.
State Street will be closed between Thornton and Division Streets, including the intersection of 9th and State. Traffic will be diverted using a bypass route through Thornton, Madison, Division, and Canal Streets.
Additional closures will affect side streets and internal roads such as Hamilton, Washington, Jefferson, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Streets. Parade participants and increased pedestrian traffic are expected to cause significant delays in the downtown area. Drivers are advised to follow posted bypass signs and avoid using downtown side streets.
