Lockport, IL – The Illinois Secretary of State announced the permanent closure of the Lockport DMV facility at 1029 31 E. 9th Street. The facility will close its doors for the final time on November 25, 2024.

According to the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office, residents in need of DMV services can visit the Joliet DMV at 201 Joyce Road. Customers can also utilize online services through ILSOS.gov for tasks like renewing licenses, registering vehicles, or accessing other state resources.

Officials recommend planning ahead to avoid service delays during this transition. To locate the nearest DMV facility or check hours, residents can call 800-252-8980 or visit the facility finder on the state website.
