Bourbonnais Considers Rezoning for Potential Commercial Development near Olivet

BOURBONNAIS, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais Planning and Zoning Board is set to hold a public hearing on April 27, 2023, at 5:30 PM, to consider a zoning variance request for the rezoning of 336, 352, and 368 S Rivard from R-5 multi-family residence to B-2 corridor commercial business.

The property, situated on the corner of University Avenue opposite Olivet’s main campus, has the potential to accommodate new housing or commercial buildings if rezoning is approved. 

Rezoning these sections would allow the complete partial land to be developed into commercial property.

The current zoning designation is multi-family residential, but the request, known as Case PR23-0001, aims to change it to commercial business, which would enable the development of new commercial businesses in the area. The hearing is open to the public, and the Village of Bourbonnais encourages community members to attend and voice their opinions on the proposed rezoning.

If approved, the rezoning would potentially open up the area to commercial development, bringing new businesses and opportunities to the community. The Planning and Zoning Board will consider all feedback and make a decision on the zoning variance request after the public hearing.
