MORRIS, IL – A Bourbonnais man, Josh Larry, was arrested in Grundy County for resisting arrest Monday. Instead of complying, Larry decided to record the encounter, leading to an additional charge of aggravated battery to a police officer.

According to Morris Police, it began around 10:45 p.m. when officers attempted to pull Larry over for speeding near Pine Bluff Road and Winterbottom Road. Larry allegedly ignored their instructions, leading them on a pursuit that ended near the Illinois River Bridge. However, instead of cooperating, Larry took out his phone and extended it out of the window to record the unfolding events.

Reports say despite repeated a dozen commands to exit the vehicle, Larry stubbornly refused, later raising a window on a deputy’s arm. Deputies were forced to forcefully gain access to the car and arrest him, emphasizing the importance of obeying law enforcement instructions.

Larry now faces charges of resisting arrest and aggravated battery among other charges.
