CHALMERS, IN – A collision between an Amtrak train and a garbage truck on State Road 43 left three individuals with minor injuries in White County on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 a.m. near the town of Chalmers. The impact of the crash resulted in the destruction of the garbage truck, which reportedly failed to yield to the oncoming train carrying a full load of passengers.
Prompt emergency response led to the swift transportation of the two truck occupants and one train passenger to a nearby hospital for treatment of their minor injuries.
