PEMBROKE, Ill. – Firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire at 12243 E Gamble earlier this morning.  The fire quickly escalated to a 3rd alarm as the windy conditions fueled the flames.

Despite the challenging weather, the firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes and buildings. The smoke from the fire can be seen for miles, causing concern for residents in the surrounding areas.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as a result of the fire.

The National Weather Service had issued a warning for high winds and dry conditions in the area, which may have contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. In addition, the cloudy skies and low temperatures made it difficult for the firefighters to combat the blaze.

As the investigation remains into what caused the fire, residents are urged to take precautions and remain vigilant during these dry and windy conditions.
