Oklahoma Driver Arrested after 72 lbs of Pot found in Bourbonnais

BOURBONNAIS, IL – A routine traffic stop Monday on Interstate 57 near Bourbonnais Parkway led to the arrest of an individual from Oklahoma. Illinois State Police District 21 pulled them over for a cracked windshield. 

Officers allegedly discovered approximately 72 pounds of marijuana allegedly hidden in their vehicle. The individual, identified as 43-year-old Yer (Sheng) Vang from Oaks, Oklahoma, now faces charges of cannabis trafficking. 

They are currently held at the Jerome Combs Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing. This incident highlights law enforcement’s ongoing battle against drug trafficking. 

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
