Minivan Submerged in Illinois Lake Prompts Rescue Operation

LINCOLN, Ill. – A minivan made an unexpected splash in Lake Paradise in Coles County on Saturday, sparking a swift response from a dive and rescue team. 

According to authorities it happened just before 7 a.m.  No injuries were reported as the driver managed to escape the sinking vehicle and reach shore before help arrived. The Lincoln Fire Protection District Dive Team, along with other local emergency services, assisted in removing the minivan from the lake. 

Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
