DANVILLE, IL – Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in an Aldi parking lot on Wednesday, leaving a 23-year-old man from Alvin, Illinois seriously injured with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
According to Danville Police, the victim had arranged a meeting with another individual in the supermarket’s parking lot when the shooting took place. Following the shooting, one of the suspects allegedly took items from the victim before both fled the scene.
After an extensive follow-up investigation, the authorities identified the individuals involved as 23-year-old Kaleb Cotton from Danville and 26-year-old Bradlee Williams from Tilton, IL. On Thursday, Danville Detectives located and apprehended Cotton and Williams together in Danville.
The suspects are currently in custody at the Danville Public Safety building, awaiting arraignment in Vermilion County Court. They face charges of aggravated battery with a firearm, armed robbery, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
The victim remains in serious condition at a nearby hospital.
