Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reported that on November 15, 2025, Monroe County deputies contacted Livingston County authorities after a male victim arrived at Highland Hospital with a stab wound. The victim told investigators the injury occurred earlier that evening during a fight at a Lima residence.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation determined that 35-year-old Ryan Kirk of Rochester allegedly became involved in a physical fight with another individual and stabbed the man during the confrontation. Kirk was arrested at the scene and charged with felony assault in the second degree.
He was processed at the Livingston County Jail and arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part before Town Justice Conesus Coyne. The District Attorney’s Office recommended $5,000 bail or bond, and Kirk was released to appear in Lima Town Court at a later date.
