Avon, NY – A Steuben County woman is facing felony driving while intoxicated charges following a single-vehicle incident in Livingston County over the weekend.
According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 11:56 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, to West Henrietta Road in the Town of Avon for a report of a vehicle that had gone off the roadway.
Investigators said Deputy Matthew Bean made contact with the driver, identified as 40-year-old Danielle Beebe of Bath, New York. During the initial interaction, the deputy allegedly observed signs that Beebe may have been under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities say a DWI investigation was conducted at the scene, including standardized field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the roadside investigation, Beebe was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.
According to the sheriff’s office, Beebe was offered a breathalyzer test to determine her blood alcohol content but allegedly refused to submit to a chemical breath test.
Further investigation revealed that Beebe has a prior DWI conviction from 2019. Due to that previous conviction, the current arrest was elevated to a felony under New York State law.
Beebe was charged with felony Driving While Intoxicated Refusal, along with additional violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, authorities said.
Following her arrest, Beebe was transported to the Livingston County Jail and turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention. She was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part before Town of Nunda Justice Morris.
The judge released Beebe on her own recognizance, as the charges do not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act. The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Beebe at arraignment, while the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office appeared on behalf of the prosecution.
The case remains pending in court.
