Mount Morris, NY – Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty announced the arrest of a Monroe County resident on felony Grand Larceny charges following a property deed investigation.
According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the Criminal Investigations Division began looking into a possible property deed theft on September 22, 2025. Investigators allege that Paul Oska, 39, of Rochester, wrongfully transferred a deed to a private residence into his own name.
On November 6, 2025, Investigator James Merrick arrested Oska and charged him with felony Grand Larceny in the Second Degree. Authorities say Oska was taken to the Livingston County Jail for processing and held prior to arraignment.
Oska was later arraigned before Town of Caledonia Justice Riggi at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part. The judge released Oska on his own recognizance, as the charge is not eligible for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.
Officials said Oska was represented by a private attorney during the arraignment. The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office also appeared in court on behalf of the People.
The Sheriff’s Office did not provide further comment on potential additional charges, but the investigation remains ongoing.
