Geneseo, NY – A Conesus woman is facing felony Driving While Intoxicated charges following a traffic stop last week in Livingston County, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
On Thursday, September 18, around 10:27 p.m., Deputy Hunter Wester of the Sheriff’s Office STOP DWI Unit pulled over a vehicle on Spring Street in the Village of Livonia after observing a traffic violation. Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty said the driver, identified as 50-year-old Christy Wilcox, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during the stop.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Wilcox allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DWI. She was transported to Sheriff’s Headquarters in Geneseo, where a breath test reportedly showed her blood alcohol content at .13 percent.
A records check revealed Wilcox had a previous DWI conviction in 2019, making the latest arrest a felony under state law. Authorities said she was charged with felony Driving While Intoxicated and multiple violations of New York’s Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Wilcox was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part and released on her own recognizance, as the charges do not qualify for bail under New York’s bail reform law. The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Wilcox, while the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office appeared on behalf of the state.
