Avon, NY – A Monroe County man is facing multiple felony charges following an alleged burglary at a gas station in Livingston County late last month, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty, deputies were called to the Quicklee’s gas station in the Town of Avon around 6:51 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, after a burglary was reported. Investigators say a person entered the business, stole multiple cartons of cigarettes, and fled the scene in a vehicle.

Following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, authorities allege that 65-year-old Edward Perdue entered the business with another individual and stole property while inside the store.

Sheriff’s investigators Ross Gerace and Michael Wade arrested Perdue on Thursday, January 15, 2026. He was charged with felony burglary in the third degree, felony grand larceny in the third degree, possession of burglar’s tools, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

After his arrest, Perdue was transported to the Livingston County Jail, where he was processed and held for pre-arraignment detention. He was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the county jail before Town of York Justice Koch.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the judge ordered Perdue remanded to custody without bail due to him allegedly having two or more prior felony convictions.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Perdue during arraignment, while the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office appeared on behalf of the prosecution.

The Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and Forensic Identification Unit also assisted with the investigation. All charges are accusations, and Perdue is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
