Pontiac, IL — A Gibson City woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision Saturday afternoon at a rural Livingston County intersection just south of Fairbury.
According to the Livingston County Coroner’s Office, the crash occurred around 4:20 p.m. on March 29 at the intersection of 600 North Road and 2200 East Road. A 19-year-old driver, Mark Gal, was traveling eastbound on 600 North Road in a Buick Envision and allegedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The impact caused extensive front-end damage to both vehicles. Enhausen’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Emergency responders from Fairbury Fire, Fairbury Police, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, and Illinois State Police reconstruction unit were dispatched to the scene.
Jerrie L. Enhausen, 67, a passenger in the Equinox, was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:40 p.m. from blunt force injuries. James Enhausen was flown to St. Francis Hospital in Peoria and remains in the ICU in stable condition.
A minor in Gal’s vehicle was treated and released. Gal was cited for disobeying a stop sign by Sheriff’s Police.
