Little Rock, AR – Arkansas residents can expect a warm and calm weekend before changes in the weather pattern bring cooler and wetter conditions early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, afternoon highs this weekend will climb into the 80s, running 5 to 10 degrees above normal for early October. Skies will stay mostly clear, with light southeasterly breezes helping keep conditions dry across the state.

By early next week, however, forecasters say moisture will increase across the region, raising the chance for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms beginning Monday. Rain chances are currently at 20–30%, with the best window for activity in the afternoons.

Temperatures will also begin trending downward starting Monday. Highs are expected to shift from the upper 70s to lower 80s by midweek, offering a noticeable cool-down after the unseasonably warm weekend.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts as conditions may change, especially if thunderstorm chances increase.
