LITTLE ROCK, AR – Residents of Arkansas will experience mild and sunny conditions this weekend before heavier rains arrive early next week. Forecasters are warning of patchy fog overnight Saturday, which may reduce visibility on major roadways such as I-30 and U.S. Highway 67.
According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will be warmer, with highs near 72 degrees. A 30% chance of rain begins late Sunday evening, increasing significantly on Monday as a storm system moves through the region. Central Arkansas, including Little Rock, could see heavy showers with up to 70% rain chances by Monday afternoon. Wind gusts as high as 30 mph may accompany the rain.
Travelers should exercise caution during foggy conditions, especially during the early morning hours when visibility may drop below two miles. Monday’s stormy weather could also impact road conditions, so drivers are urged to plan ahead.
The extended forecast shows improving weather by Tuesday, with sunny skies and highs around 73 degrees. Cooler temperatures will follow midweek, with highs dropping to the upper 50s by Wednesday.
Residents should secure outdoor items and clear storm drains ahead of Monday’s rain. Stay updated by checking the National Weather Service for real-time alerts.
