Little Rock, AR – The National Weather Service in Little Rock says a light wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is possible across central and northern Arkansas on Thursday and Thursday evening, while southern Arkansas will likely see only cold rain.
Light accumulations of freezing rain (up to a light glaze) and snow (up to a few tenths of an inch) are possible, mainly in higher elevations of the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains. Most areas are not expected to experience significant impacts.
Forecasters emphasize that this will be a minor winter event, though slick spots on bridges and overpasses could develop during the morning and evening commutes. Temperatures will range from the upper 20s overnight Wednesday to mid-40s by Thursday afternoon.
If any snow or ice does accumulate, residents are encouraged to share local observations with the NWS to help verify conditions.
