Little Rock, Ark. – Strong storms and soaking rains could cause disruptions across Arkansas beginning Tuesday afternoon, with the heaviest rainfall and highest severe weather threat expected Wednesday.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Little Rock, rainfall will start moving into the state late Tuesday and continue through Thursday. Wednesday is forecast to be the wettest day of the week, with many areas likely seeing one to two inches of rain and a risk of strong to severe storms.

Cities such as Little Rock, Conway, and Russellville should prepare for potential flooding on local roads, especially during the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Motorists are urged to allow extra time, avoid flooded streets, and have an emergency kit ready. Rural areas and low-lying roads could become hazardous as rain totals climb.

Temperatures through midweek will remain warm, ranging from the mid-70s to mid-80s across the Natural State. Monday and Tuesday will be the hottest days before cooler air moves in by Friday. Overnight lows will dip into the lower 60s later in the week, offering slight relief from the early-week heat.

Rain is expected to taper off late Thursday into early Friday, but forecasters warn that additional advisories may be issued if storm threats persist. Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware and monitor alerts through Wednesday night.
