Little Rock, Ark. – After days of heavy rain across Arkansas, including localized totals topping 6 inches along the I-40 corridor, residents should brace for more showers and storms Saturday, especially during the afternoon and evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, additional rainfall between 0.25 and 1 inch is likely across much of the state through 7 a.m. Sunday. Storms are expected to redevelop by early afternoon, impacting areas from Fort Smith to Pine Bluff and into southern cities like Texarkana and El Dorado.

Communities hit hardest in the last 72 hours—such as Russellville, Hot Springs, and De Queen—remain at risk for ponding on roads and brief localized flooding. In saturated areas, even light rain could quickly impact low-lying streets or poorly drained spots. Residents are urged to avoid driving through water-covered roads and to monitor local alerts, especially in previously flooded zones.

Saturday’s highs will climb into the upper 80s to low 90s, with El Dorado expected to reach 91°F. Rain chances may diminish briefly overnight, but unsettled conditions could return again Sunday.

⚠️ Rain and storm chances will remain in the forecast through Sunday—residents should stay weather-aware.
