LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas will see a stretch of hot, dry weather through early next week as temperatures climb well above seasonal averages and rain chances vanish across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, a strong ridge of high pressure will park over the state, keeping daytime highs in the mid-90s to near 100 degrees in cities including Camden, Brinkley, and Pine Bluff. Little Rock is expected to hit the mid-90s by Thursday and remain there through at least Monday.
The dry spell means organized rainfall will bypass Arkansas entirely, raising concerns about soil moisture, crop stress, and increasing fire danger across wooded areas. Outdoor workers and drivers should take precautions, with heat stress a risk during the afternoon hours.
Communities such as Russellville, Pocahontas, and Monticello could see highs hover between 95°F and 98°F through the weekend. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat, and avoid leaving children or pets in parked vehicles.
Hot and dry conditions are expected to persist until early next week, with no significant shift in the weather pattern anticipated.
