Little Rock, AR – Arkansas is set to experience an unseasonably warm stretch of weather late this week, with temperatures soaring into the mid to upper 70s across much of the state, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.
Forecasters say an upper-level ridge will build over the region by Friday, combining with steady southwest winds to push temperatures well above mid-November norms. Typical highs this time of year are in the low to mid-60s, making this upcoming warm-up a noticeable deviation.
According to the NWS, the strongest warming is expected Friday and Saturday, when locations including Fort Smith, Little Rock, and Monticello have a high probability of exceeding 75°F. The warm pattern will be accompanied by dry air and gusty winds, contributing to elevated fire-weather conditions in some areas.
Temperatures are forecast to trend closer to seasonal averages by early next week as the ridge weakens and cooler air moves in from the north.
Residents planning outdoor activities or agricultural work should take advantage of the mild conditions before temperatures return to normal.
