Little Rock, AR – Arkansas is settling into a stretch of cooler, fall-like weather this week, but rain chances are set to return by Friday as a pair of cold fronts move through, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.

Forecasters say Wednesday and Thursday will remain dry and pleasant, with highs generally in the upper 60s to low 70s and cool mornings dipping into the 40s and 50s. The next weather system is expected to arrive late Thursday night, bringing an increase in clouds and scattered showers.

Rain chances rise sharply into Friday and Saturday, with some areas in central and southern Arkansas seeing 60–75% odds of rainfall. Temperatures will trend cooler through the weekend, with highs slipping back into the 60s by Sunday as drier air moves in behind the front.

Meteorologists say the pattern marks a seasonal shift toward more typical late-October weather across the state — cooler days, crisp mornings, and on-and-off rain chances heading into next week.
