Little Rock, Arkansas – A stretch of mild, almost springlike weather will continue across Arkansas for the next few days before a noticeable change arrives late in the week, bringing cooler and more seasonable temperatures back to the state.
According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, temperatures will remain well above normal through Friday as southerly flow and a developing storm system to the west keep warmer air in place. Afternoon highs across central and southern Arkansas are expected to stay in the 60s and lower 70s at times, with overnight lows remaining relatively mild for January.
Cities including Little Rock, Hot Springs, Pine Bluff, Conway, and Monticello will see continued mild afternoons, while northern communities such as Harrison and Mountain Home remain cooler but still above seasonal averages. This warmth persists until a storm system moves across the region, marking a turning point in the pattern.
Rain chances return late Thursday night into Friday as the system approaches, with scattered showers possible statewide. While rainfall is expected to be beneficial, no significant flooding concerns are indicated at this time. Behind the system, temperatures trend downward over the weekend.
The cooler air arriving late Friday and Saturday is expected to bring readings closer to typical January levels rather than extreme cold. Residents should enjoy the mild stretch while it lasts and stay tuned for updates as rain timing and weekend temperatures become clearer.
