Little Rock, AR – A noticeable shift toward fall weather is setting in across Arkansas this week, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock. After a few warmer days, cooler mornings and milder afternoons will bring a more October-like feel through Friday.
According to the NWS forecast, only southern Arkansas is expected to reach or exceed 80 degrees Wednesday afternoon, while most of northern and central Arkansas will remain cooler. By Thursday morning, much of the state could see low temperatures dropping below 55 degrees — the first widespread chill of the season for many areas.
Meteorologists say this pattern marks a significant shift from recent warm conditions, with daytime highs trending closer to seasonal averages and crisp mornings returning to much of the state. The cooler weather is expected to continue through the weekend before another gradual warmup next week.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the comfortable fall weather, especially as outdoor events and fall festivals ramp up statewide.
