Little Rock, AR – Forecasters are monitoring a potential severe weather event this weekend, with strong to severe thunderstorms possible Saturday afternoon into Saturday night across much of Arkansas, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.

The latest Storm Prediction Center outlook places much of central and northern Arkansas under a Level 2 (Slight Risk) for severe weather on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

All modes of severe weather — including damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes — are possible as instability and moisture increase through the day. However, forecasters note that this is a low-confidence forecast, meaning that the exact timing and severity of storms remain uncertain.

“Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across the state,” meteorologists said Monday. “We encourage residents to stay weather aware and monitor updates throughout the week as details become clearer.”

Residents are urged to review severe weather plans, ensure multiple ways to receive alerts, and keep an eye on the evolving forecast as the weekend approaches.
