LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Fall’s trademark temperature swings are on full display across Arkansas today, as a chilly morning in the 40s gives way to a comfortable afternoon in the 70s. The National Weather Service in Little Rock says it’s a classic “dress in layers” kind of day across the Natural State.
According to the NWS Little Rock office, early morning lows ranged from the upper 30s in northern Arkansas near Hardy and Harrison to the upper 40s around Little Rock, Hot Springs, and Fort Smith. Sunshine and light winds will help temperatures rebound quickly, reaching afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s statewide.
The sharp warm-up follows a clear, calm night that allowed strong radiational cooling. No rain is expected through tonight, and humidity levels will stay comfortable under mostly clear skies. Residents planning outdoor work or school activities can expect ideal fall conditions with mild breezes and low humidity.
The rest of the week looks seasonable, with cool mornings and warm afternoons continuing into the weekend. A weak front may bring slightly cooler air by Friday, but widespread rain remains unlikely until early next week.
