Little Rock, Arkansas – A cold start to the week is giving way to a steady warming trend across the Little Rock area, according to the National Weather Service.
Early Tuesday morning conditions at Adams Field showed temperatures near 26°F, following an overnight low around 24°F under clear skies. Winds were light from the northwest, keeping wind chills limited but allowing temperatures to dip well below freezing during the early morning hours.
The National Weather Service reports that Tuesday will be sunny and cool, with highs reaching near 43°F. Clear conditions will continue into Tuesday night, when temperatures fall again to around 31°F, marking the final widespread freezing night expected this week for central Arkansas.
A noticeable warmup begins on Wednesday, with sunny skies and highs climbing to around 56°F. Overnight lows Wednesday night are forecast near 35°F, remaining above freezing and signaling the end of early-morning frost concerns.
By New Year’s Day, temperatures are expected to reach near 59°F, with mostly sunny skies and light winds. The warming trend continues into Friday, when highs may reach 61°F. Clouds will increase late week, with a 20 percent chance of showers possible Friday afternoon.
Overnight lows will also remain mild late week, with temperatures staying in the 40s, supporting continued dry and comfortable conditions heading into the weekend. No winter precipitation, ice, or hazardous weather is expected during this period.
No watches, warnings, or advisories are currently in effect for the Little Rock area. The National Weather Service indicates the probability of hazardous weather remains low through the upcoming weekend.
Commuters, students, and outdoor workers should prepare for chilly mornings early this week but can expect significantly warmer afternoons by midweek and into the New Year holiday.
