Little Rock, Arkansas – Rain chances increase across Arkansas late this week, with showers and isolated thunderstorms expected to peak Saturday and potentially impact travel along Interstate 30 and Interstate 40.
According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, Valentine’s Day Saturday is expected to bring widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms across much of the state. Rain probabilities rise Friday before reaching 80% to 90% in several locations Saturday.
In Little Rock, rain chances increase to around 30% Friday with highs between 61 and 64 degrees. By Saturday, shower and thunderstorm chances climb to near 90%, with highs ranging from 61 to 63 degrees and overnight lows in the upper 40s to low 50s.
Pine Bluff and Hot Springs show similar trends, with Saturday rain chances near 90% and highs in the low to mid 60s. Harrison in northern Arkansas is forecast to see an 80% chance of showers Saturday, with highs between 53 and 57 degrees.
Wet roadways and reduced visibility are possible Saturday, particularly along major corridors including I-30, I-40, I-430 and U.S. 67. While widespread severe weather is not currently indicated, isolated thunderstorms may produce brief heavier rainfall.
Dry and partly cloudy conditions are expected Wednesday and Thursday, with increasing cloud cover Friday ahead of the approaching system.
Couples with outdoor Valentine’s Day plans and weekend travelers should monitor updated forecasts as rainfall timing becomes clearer.
