LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Central Arkansas will see another stretch of hot, dry days as temperatures climb into the mid-90s through early next week, with little relief overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, Friday through Tuesday will bring mostly sunny skies with highs around 95 to 96 degrees. Overnight lows will stay near 69 degrees, offering only modest cooling. Winds will remain light, generally out of the east at 5 mph or less.

The prolonged heat may stress outdoor workers and vulnerable groups. Hydration and shade are essential, and residents are urged to limit strenuous activity during the afternoon. While humidity remains moderate, the heat index could approach 100 in urban areas like downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock.

Travel impacts are minimal, but extended sunshine could worsen road glare and add stress to vehicles. Drivers should monitor tire pressure and keep extra water on hand. Energy demand may also rise as air conditioners run continuously.

The quiet stretch of weather looks to continue until at least midweek, with no rain expected. Any meaningful cooldown or change in pattern is unlikely before late next week.
