Little Rock, AR – A line of strong to severe thunderstorms is forecast to sweep across Arkansas Saturday afternoon, bringing the potential for damaging winds and large hail, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.

The main hazards include wind gusts between 60 and 80 mph and hail up to 1.75 inches (golf-ball size). The NWS notes that while the overall tornado risk is low, embedded tornadoes within the storm line remain possible as the system pushes eastward.

The most intense activity is expected between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., affecting areas including Little Rock, Conway, Hot Springs, Pine Bluff, and Jonesboro before moving into eastern Arkansas by nightfall.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects, monitor local forecasts, and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. Power outages and brief travel disruptions are possible as the storms move through.
