Lincoln, IL – Central Illinois residents should prepare for another frosty night Thursday before milder temperatures and light rain chances move in for the weekend, according to the US National Weather Service Central Illinois.

Overnight lows are expected to dip into the upper 20s and lower 30s under mostly clear skies, with widespread frost likely. Friday will bring sunshine and highs near 60°F, marking the start of a gradual warming trend.

By Saturday night, light rain chances will develop across the region and persist into early next week. Forecasters predict highs around 60 to 65 degrees through Monday, with overnight lows in the 40s as increased cloud cover keeps nights milder.

While rainfall amounts are expected to remain light, residents should anticipate occasional damp conditions and cooler evenings. The pattern is expected to remain unsettled into early next week.
