Lincoln, IL – Central Illinois residents should brace for a stretch of cool, unsettled weather as several weak systems move through the region, according to the US National Weather Service Central Illinois. Clouds will increase Friday with highs near 60°F, while lows drop into the 30s and 40s overnight, allowing for patchy frost in east-central parts of the state.

Saturday will stay mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s and isolated rain chances of around 20–30%. Light rain showers become more likely Sunday and continue through early next week, with coverage increasing to 40–50% by Monday.

Temperatures will remain seasonable, with daytime highs holding in the upper 50s and overnight lows mainly in the 40s. While no major rainfall is expected, residents can anticipate damp conditions and cool mornings heading into late October.

The National Weather Service notes that these passing systems mark the start of a more active pattern, with additional rain chances persisting into midweek.
