Springfield, Mo. – The National Weather Service in Springfield says a light wintry mix of sleet and snow will move through southwest Missouri today, lasting off and on through the evening.
Most areas will see less than one inch of snow or sleet, though localized slick spots are possible, particularly north and east of Springfield and along I-44. A quick-hitting band of snow is expected late this afternoon into the evening, producing brief road impacts during the evening commute.
Temperatures will remain below freezing, so any untreated roads and bridges could become slippery. Drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time.
