New York, NY – The National Weather Service in New York City reports a mix of light snow, drizzle, and freezing drizzle early this morning, with slick travel conditions possible across portions of the New York metro area, Long Island, and parts of northern New Jersey.

Radar early Saturday showed spotty bands of light precipitation moving through the region. While accumulations are expected to remain light, temperatures near freezing could allow for icy patches on untreated roads and sidewalks.

A Special Weather Statement remains in effect for much of the area through the early morning hours, advising drivers and pedestrians to use caution if traveling before sunrise. Conditions are expected to improve by late morning as temperatures gradually rise above freezing.
