Shreveport, LA — A slight chance of light freezing rain is in the forecast for the extreme northern portions of the region from Monday morning through Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Shreveport.
Current projections indicate a 10% to 20% probability of light ice accumulations — generally a trace to 0.01 inches. While the expected amounts are minor, even a thin glaze of ice could create slick spots on bridges and overpasses, particularly during early morning hours.
The best chances for freezing rain are confined to the northernmost forecast zones, including northern McCurtain County in Oklahoma and adjacent areas of southwest Arkansas.
Forecasters note that only minor impacts are expected, but travelers are advised to use caution and monitor for rapidly changing conditions.
