Jackson, Miss. – The National Weather Service in Jackson reports that light freezing rain or drizzle may occur early Monday morning through mid-morning, and again late Monday night into early Tuesday, mainly across northwest Mississippi.

Only a light glaze of ice is expected, but slick spots may develop on bridges and overpasses, leading to minor travel impacts during the morning commute.

Motorists are urged to slow down and allow extra travel time, especially in the Greenville and Clarksdale areas, where temperatures will be near or below freezing during the precipitation window.

Conditions are expected to improve by midday Tuesday as temperatures rise above freezing.
