Kewanee, IL – A Peoria woman has died following a serious two-vehicle collision in Kewanee on County Highway 5. The accident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. on August 16, prompting an immediate response from local police, fire, and EMS.

According to the Peoria County Coroner’s Office, 37-year-old Cassie Boorn, of North Terra Vista Drive, was critically injured in the crash. Emergency responders transported her to OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center via LifeFlight Helicopter, where she was admitted in critical condition.

Despite aggressive resuscitative efforts by the medical team, Boorn was pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m. that evening. She sustained multiple blunt force trauma injuries, which were described as inconsistent with life.

The crash remains under investigation by the Henry County Sheriff’s Department. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined. Per Illinois State Statute, toxicology tests are pending to further clarify the circumstances leading to the fatal collision.
