Chicago, IL – Liam and Olivia hold the title for the most popular baby names in America for the fifth consecutive year, according to the latest data from the Social Security Administration. Noah and Emma continue to secure the second spot in their respective lists. The annual list, released in coordination with Mother’s Day, highlights Mateo as a newcomer to the top ten boys’ names for 2023.

According to the Social Security Administration, which compiles the list based on baby names from Social Security card applications, pop culture and social media continue to influence naming trends significantly. The fastest rising names in 2023 include Izael for boys and Kaeli for girls, with Kaeli McEwen’s social media influence cited as a key factor in the name’s popularity surge.

The Social Security also plays a crucial role in supporting families, providing benefits to 55% of adult beneficiaries who are women and 2.6 million children, including those with disabilities. The agency emphasizes the ease of accessing services digitally, making it more convenient for families to secure the necessary benefits and services.
