Lexington, SC – A community tip led deputies to arrest three people on Charleston Highway last week after investigators allegedly found meth, fentanyl pills, and firearms inside a vehicle, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Jay Koon said officers received a report that Sammie Green would be in the area on Sept. 16 with “a large amount of methamphetamine.” With assistance from Cayce police, investigators stopped Green’s vehicle, where Wyatt Ryan James and Daidr’ea Torres were also present.

According to investigators, James attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. Deputies said he discarded a bag containing nearly one pound of methamphetamine. Both Green and James allegedly had guns on them at the time.

Koon said Green also had pills consistent with pressed fentanyl, leading to additional charges. “Green, James, and Torres were charged with trafficking meth,” Koon stated. “Green and James were also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.”

Court records show Green and James are currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center. Torres has been released on bond after a magistrate judge’s review.
