Lexington, SC – A Lexington County man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2023 murder of Tony Etheredge Jr. in Leesville, according to the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

Allon T. Adams, 24, of Leesville, was convicted of murder, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Judge Walton J. McLeod IV handed down the sentence on Friday, November 21, following a four-day trial that concluded with a guilty verdict after just 43 minutes of jury deliberation.

According to Eleventh Circuit Solicitor Rick Hubbard, Adams and a female accomplice planned to rob Etheredge and steal his 2014 Toyota Tacoma truck on December 30, 2023. Etheredge was shot and killed in a remote area off Parrish Road after being lured to the location. His body was later disposed of in Black Creek near Pelion.

Etheredge’s truck was later found abandoned in a Leesville field, leading investigators to Adams through forensic and digital evidence. DNA recovered from the scene and cell phone data tied Adams to the murder. Investigators also recovered video and audio recordings of Adams discussing the crime.

Etheredge’s parents spoke in court about their son’s loss, describing him as a hardworking young man devoted to his family.

Adams has been transferred to the South Carolina Department of Corrections to begin serving his life sentence.
