Romeoville, IL – Authorities have concluded the search for the suspect involved in the recent Lewis University airsoft gun incident. The individual is believed to have left the area after a thorough search.

Multiple police agencies assisted, using officers on foot, K-9 units, and aerial surveillance. According to the Lewis University Police Department (LUPD), officials determined there is no longer any immediate threat to campus.

LUPD expressed gratitude to the Romeoville Police, Will County Sheriff’s Office, and other agencies for their swift response. The investigation will continue, with updates provided as needed.

Campus police will remain on-site to ensure ongoing safety, and classes and activities will proceed as scheduled.
