Adrian, MI – Residents across Lenawee County and surrounding Southeast Michigan communities will have a chance to clear out unwanted tires and bulky Styrofoam during a one-day collection event this Saturday morning.
According to the Lenawee County Solid Waste Department, the annual Spring Tire and Styrofoam Collection Event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds, with entry from Hanke Lane off Siena Heights Drive. Officials say the event is designed to help reduce landfill waste while offering a convenient disposal option for households.
Passenger vehicle tires, light pickup tires, and motorcycle tires will be accepted, with a limit of 10 tires per vehicle. Fees are set at $2 per motorcycle or small tire and $4 per passenger or light pickup tire. Rims do not need to be removed before drop-off.
In addition to tires, Styrofoam materials will be accepted free of charge, providing an added incentive for residents tackling spring cleaning projects. The event is expected to draw participants from across Lenawee County, including Adrian and nearby communities.
County officials encourage early arrival, as steady turnout is typical for seasonal cleanup events. Organizers say proper disposal of tires helps prevent environmental hazards, including illegal dumping and mosquito breeding sites.
The event is open to the public, with staff on-site to direct traffic and assist with unloading.
