Adrian, MI – Lenawee County residents have an opportunity this Saturday to safely clear out hazardous materials from their homes during a free community collection event in Adrian.

According to Lenawee County officials, the Household Hazardous Waste Collection will take place Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Wacker Chemical, located at 3301 Sutton Road in Adrian. The event is hosted in partnership with Anderson Development and is open to county residents at no cost.

The collection is designed to help residents properly dispose of potentially dangerous household items, including old paint, cleaning supplies, automotive fluids, and other chemicals that should not be thrown away with regular trash. Officials say improper disposal can harm both the environment and public health, making events like this critical for community safety.

Participants are encouraged to bring materials directly to the site, where trained personnel will handle and dispose of the waste according to environmental guidelines. No appointment is required, but residents are advised to arrive early, as the event operates on a first-come basis within the scheduled time window.

County leaders emphasize that the program not only reduces clutter in homes and garages but also helps prevent hazardous substances from entering local waterways and landfills. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental responsibility across Lenawee County, including Adrian and surrounding communities.

Residents with questions about accepted items or event guidelines can find additional details through the county’s official communication channels.
