Lehigh Acres, FL – A 23-year-old Lehigh Acres woman was arrested Sunday after a road rage incident allegedly escalated into a gun threat toward her neighbors, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the confrontation unfolded near the intersection of 19th St. SW and Ruth Ave. N., where the suspect, identified as Esmerelda Cruz, allegedly pointed a gun at her neighbors following a heated exchange.

Video from a camera mounted to Cruz’s vehicle reportedly shows her driving toward the family before exiting her car and pointing a firearm at them — including their dog. According to investigators, no injuries were reported, and the gun was later recovered from Cruz’s home.

Cruz was arrested and charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Sheriff Carmine Marceno emphasized the department’s stance against aggressive driving behavior, stating, “The grid is busier than ever. Road rage has no place in Lee County and won’t be tolerated.”

The incident remains under investigation.
