Lee County, FL – A routine traffic stop Thursday led to a major narcotics arrest in Lee County, where detectives say they seized more than two kilograms of cocaine, a firearm, and over $130,000 in cash as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, detectives assigned to the Tactical Narcotics Team and Narcotics Unit conducted a traffic stop that developed probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, investigators allegedly located more than two kilos of cocaine and a firearm in the rear seat.

The driver was identified as 27-year-old Jessie Lee Freeman, authorities said.

Following the traffic stop, detectives used investigative techniques to establish probable cause for residential search warrants at two Lehigh Acres locations Freeman was known to frequent. Lehigh Acres is located in eastern Lee County, just outside the Fort Myers metro area.

During the execution of the warrants, investigators allegedly recovered approximately 2.7 kilos of cocaine, more than $130,000 in cash, assorted jewelry, and multiple items of drug equipment consistent with narcotics distribution, according to the sheriff’s office.

The cash and jewelry were seized for forfeiture, officials said.

Freeman was charged with one count of Trafficking in Cocaine, stemming from the traffic stop, and one count of Owning Property Used to Manufacture or Traffic Narcotics. All charges are allegations, and Freeman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno praised detectives for the investigation, stating the agency remains committed to removing illegal drugs from Lee County communities.

The case remains under investigation.
