LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Another round of thunderstorms is expected across southern Nevada and northwestern Arizona through Saturday, bringing strong winds, heavy rain, and the potential for hail. The National Weather Service warns that storm activity will be most intense Friday afternoon and evening, especially around the Las Vegas Valley, Kingman, and surrounding desert communities.
According to the National Weather Service Las Vegas office, storm chances remain elevated across Clark, Lincoln, and Mohave counties, with rain probabilities ranging from 30% to 60% depending on location. Drivers on I-15, U.S. 93, and U.S. 95 could encounter sudden downpours reducing visibility and creating localized flooding.
Communities including Pahrump, Laughlin, and Bullhead City should also be prepared for gusty winds over 40 mph, with the strongest storms capable of producing small hail. Outdoor plans may need adjusting, and residents are urged to avoid dry washes and low-lying roads where flash flooding can occur rapidly.
Storm activity is expected to decrease by late Saturday, with most areas drying out by Sunday. Cooler, calmer weather should return early next week.
