Las Vegas, Nevada – Drivers across southern Nevada should brace for scattered thunderstorms through Sunday afternoon, with wet pavement and reduced visibility possible along I-15 and local arterials. Conditions will shift quickly, however, as high pressure builds and summer-like heat returns by Tuesday—just in time to welcome October.

According to the National Weather Service, isolated storms will continue through early evening Sunday, mainly between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Skies will begin to clear overnight, with Monday bringing dry air and sunshine across the Las Vegas Valley. Temperatures will climb from the mid-80s Sunday to near 90 by midweek, with a forecast high of 90°F on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

While the rain threat is short-lived, motorists should use caution during the window of possible downpours. Wet roads and minor ponding are possible, especially in low-lying areas and intersections with poor drainage. Avoid travel through flooded areas and consider delaying errands until late afternoon.

Temperatures will remain 5 to 8 degrees above average through Friday, with no rain expected after Sunday. The first days of October will feel more like midsummer in Las Vegas, with dry, breezy afternoons and strong sun exposure.

No additional weather alerts are in effect beyond Sunday, but daily highs near 90 and clear skies are expected into the weekend. Another round of moisture could develop next week.
