Las Vegas, NV – Residents across Las Vegas and southern Nevada can expect a stretch of unseasonably warm weather heading into Hanukkah, with temperatures running well above normal for mid-December, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, above-normal temperatures are expected for the next eight days and eight nights across the Desert Southwest. Forecast highs in Las Vegas are projected to range from the upper 60s to around 70 degrees, significantly warmer than the typical mid-December average.

The NWS “Hanukkah Highs” forecast shows daytime highs near 70 degrees Monday through Wednesday, followed by upper 60s later in the week and next weekend. Sunday’s high is forecast near 69 degrees, while normal daytime highs for this time of year average around 57 degrees.

The warmer pattern extends across much of Clark County and nearby desert communities, providing favorable conditions for outdoor activities, travel, and holiday gatherings. Overnight temperatures are also expected to remain mild compared to seasonal norms, reducing the risk of cold-related issues common in December.

While the warmer weather may be welcome for many, officials remind residents that winter sun exposure and dry desert conditions can still pose risks. Staying hydrated and practicing fire safety remain important, especially with continued dry conditions.

Forecasters note that no significant cooling trend is expected in the near term, though residents should continue to monitor daily forecasts for any changes.
